National Museum of the Marine Corps

 

NOVEMBER 10, 2006: President George W. Bush presided over grand opening ceremonies of the new National Museum of the Marine Corps at Quantico, Virginia.  The date also marked the 231st birthday of the Corps.

The President was joined at the podium by Master of Ceremonies Jim Leher of National Public Broadcasting, General Michael Hagee, Commandant of the Marine Corps, and retired Marine LtGen. Ron Christmas, President of the Marine Corps Foundation.

At the invitation of the Marine Corps Foundation, The Leatherneck Express was displayed throughout the day for the viewing enjoyment of the 15,000 guests.
